UV Water Treatment for Wells & Springs in Western NC

CASE WATER SYSTEMS • WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA

Add a dependable disinfection step to your well or spring water system. Case Water Systems evaluates water quality, selects properly sized whole-house UV equipment, and installs and services systems across Western North Carolina. UV treats water as it passes through the unit—without adding chlorine or changing its taste.

Why homeowners choose UV water disinfection

Under the correct water-quality and operating conditions, ultraviolet light inactivates waterborne microorganisms. A properly selected and maintained system can address bacteria such as E. coli and other susceptible pathogens. Performance depends on the equipment, delivered UV dose, water clarity and flow rate; UV is not a guarantee that every water source is safe.

No disinfectant added: UV does not add chlorine to your water. Treatment as water flows: a point-of-entry installation treats water passing into household plumbing. A practical treatment stage: UV can complement sediment filtration and other water-treatment equipment selected for your test results.

UV for private wells, springs and cistern-fed homes

If you have a positive bacteria test, recurring contamination concerns, or a spring or storage system that needs a treatment assessment, start with water testing and a review of the source. Changes after heavy rain warrant investigation. UV may be part of the solution, alongside repairs to the wellhead, spring box, piping or storage tank when needed. It does not repair a contaminated source.

Water testing and pretreatment come first

Cloudiness, sediment, iron, hardness and other conditions can interfere with UV performance or foul the quartz sleeve. We review relevant laboratory results, household peak flow, existing filters, installation space, electrical supply and maintenance access before recommending equipment. Pretreatment must meet the selected manufacturer’s requirements. UV is generally installed after the necessary treatment stages and storage, before water enters household distribution.

UV does not remove iron, sulfur odor, hardness, dissolved chemicals or sediment. Those concerns require appropriate water filtration and treatment. Request well and spring water testing to help identify the right approach.

VIQUA installation and ongoing service

Case Water Systems is a Certified Water Treatment Installer and Licensed Well Contractor. We install and service suitable VIQUA UV equipment and discuss model-specific treatment ratings, alarms, monitoring and shutoff options. Equipment selection and pricing depend on water conditions, demand and the installation scope. Send your water-test report and photos of the existing treatment equipment when requesting a quote.

Keep UV protection working

Replace the lamp on the manufacturer’s schedule—many residential systems require annual replacement, while some models have longer intervals. A lamp that still glows can be past its useful disinfection life. Sleeve cleaning, filter replacement and alarm checks also matter. We offer UV lamp replacement and equipment service for existing installations.

UV requires electricity and provides no lasting disinfectant residual downstream. Loss of power or a UV alarm can interrupt protection. Follow the system instructions, use an appropriate alternative water source if disinfection is uncertain, and arrange service. Plumbing disinfection may be needed during commissioning or after contamination; water testing remains part of ongoing source management.

Common questions about UV lights for well water

Will UV make any water safe to drink?

No. UV addresses susceptible microorganisms under the system’s rated conditions. Chemical contamination, poor water clarity and other problems need separate evaluation and treatment.

Is UV the same as shocking a well?

No. Well chlorination disinfects the well and plumbing for a specific purpose. UV treats water passing through the equipment during operation. Recurring bacteria should prompt investigation of the source and system rather than relying only on repeated shocking.

Can you add UV to my existing filters?

Often, after checking water quality, flow rate, plumbing and the existing treatment arrangement. Some installations need improved pretreatment first.

How much does a UV installation cost?

We provide a proposal after reviewing equipment sizing, pretreatment, plumbing changes, electrical needs and access. Request an assessment for a price matched to your property.
